This year I competed in the Utah BASS Federation Nation Qualifier at Flaming Gorge. I fished hard and managed to come in second on the non-boater side. I was using my St. Croix Avid Dropshot rod along with the Cache Custom Lures 3” Dart n Minnow in #123. It was a tough bite and every fish that was caught dropshotting was made possible by the sensitivity that only a St Croix rod can give. I also caught a few on a Yo-Zurri rattle trap or Strike King red eyes shad in shad colored patterns, I was slinging the traps with my 7” St Croix Premier Crankbait rods.

I am really looking for to the Wyoming BASS federation Hosting the BASS western divisional on Flaming Gorge in 2012. I plan on fishing the Gorge with a vengeance. The divisional bring out the best bass anglers in the area and it’s always interesting to see how you can do against the best in your area.

Text Box: Oneida Narrows Reservoir in Idaho is a nice place to catch lots of these beautiful Bronzeback. I really like to fish this lake in the fall. If you can put up with a short dirt road to get there it’s an awesome place to just kick back and catch tons of fish. I like to use my St. Croix Avid Dropshot rod  Model # AVS69MLXF with a Cache custom lures 4” diamond back worm in Magic #123.
